4-Hers attend Youth Horse Jamboree

    The 4-H Youth Horse Jamboree was held March 24-25, in  Ames.  The event was an opportunity for youth to participate in a host of activities from hippology to quiz bowl, public speaking and horseless horse projects including photography, visual arts, woodworking, creative writing, and others.
    The 4-H participants from Mills County included: Junior team 1 - Trevor Hals, Symone Demanett, Madisen Liddell and Mackenzie Trowbridge; Junior team 2 - Sarah Arbogast, Michaela O’Dell, Katie Wietzki and John O’Dell; Senior team - Caitlyn Pestel, Donavon O’Dell, Chrissy Vinton, Sierra Hals,  Lydia Reyes and Meghan Gray.
    Results: Junior team in Quiz Bowl placing second included: Sarah Arbogast, John O’Dell, Michayla O’Dell and Kathryn Wietzki, with coach Jennifer O’Dell; Junior individual in Quiz Bowl placing second was Michayla O’Dell and fourth was Symone Demanett; Junior team in Hippology taking third place included: Sarah Arbogast, John O’Dell, Michayla O’Dell and Katie Wietzki with coach Jennifer O’Dell; Junior Individual in Hippology taking sixth place was Kathryn Wietzki; Drawing Junior Division winning second place was Larissa Tibbles; Photography Junior Division first place winner was Chrissy Vinton; Clothes/Crafts Beginner Division second place was John O’Dell; Scrapbooking Junior Division second place was Chrissy Vinton; Short Story Beginner Division second place was John O’Dell.
